TRAVELLER'S CAMPAIGN: VISIT BALTIC MANORS successfully finishes

Dedicated to the Centenaries of Lithuania Independence restoration and Latvia and Estonia Independence declaration and European Year of Cultural Heritage, on 16th of September the traveller`s campaign “Visit Baltic castles and manors – Celebrate together!” successfully finishes.

Between May 24 and 16 September, 131 Baltic historic manors and castles opened their doors to visitors, and every citizen from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania or abroad could became a guest to a wonderful trip along beautiful castles and manors. The only thing he has to obtain was the campaigns rules and necessity to became a owner of special Traveller`s card – to collect iconic keys (stamps or stickers).

Currently, all travellers are invited to send* completed Traveller cards to the great lottery. We are waiting for travellers' cards from travellers who have collected at least 5 stickers in their home country and at least 10 neighbouring countries. Lottery prizes will surprise our traveller`s by giving either the opportunity to enjoy royal offers at our campaign`s members or gain a nice memorial from this summer's trip. The reaping of the prizes will take place in the Closing event of the campaign at Vecgulbene manor.

We remind that the most active 50 travellers will be able to participate in the Closing event. The closing event of the campaign takes place on 28 October, in Latvia, Vecgulbene manor. Registration to the closing event soon will be open.

We would like to stress that the interesting about this campaign was surprisingly wide in all three Baltic States manors and castles has enjoyed the wide range of offered services and excursions.

The symbol of the campaign – the key was used as a reference to the manor or castle opening their doors to new discoveries in cultural heritage. It travelled through all three Baltic States, recording feedback from visitors about their experience, felt and found new discoveries. We are looking forward to their return to the campaigns’ organizers to present all the stories that have been recorded to wider public.

Year 2018 for the Baltic States is symbolic year, thus the travel campaign was symbolically dedicated to the centenaries of the restoration of the Republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, European Year of Cultural Heritage as well as to so many individuals and institutions who work with strong mission to safeguard this unique heritage.

The travellers’ campaign was the cooperation project in between three national associations (Estonian Manor Association, Estonian Manor School Association, Latvian Association of Castles, Palaces and Manors and Lithuanian Association of Castles and Manors) and was organised as a cross-border event that allowed visitors to look into the diversity of their national networks and their offered services.
