From XIV century Jurbarkas is a royal manor, which is ruled by Queens. The most famous of them is Bona the wife of Grand Duke of Lithunian Grand Duchy, Sigismund I the Old. Later manor belonged to members of Radziwiłł family Liudvikas Radziwił and Jonas Mikalojus Radziwił.
